San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles
Vol 28, No. 3 / November 06
San Diego’s growing design community gets another boost with the late summer opening of Arclinea, an Italian kitchen design house at 2515 Fifth Avenue in Bankers Hill. Arclinea’s collections are designed and coordinated by the Italian architect Antonio Citterio, designer of products for Maxalto, B&B Italia and Flos,
Arclinea San Diego features some of the newest-generation technology that was unveiled at Eurocucina in Milan this past spring, including a miniature greenhouse for herbs incorporating an LED lighting system that mimics the movement of the sun, allowing herbs to blossom indoors in a fraction of the usual time. Also of note, Arclinea San Diego is the first U.S. showroom to feature the Artusi kitchen that also was introduced in Milan, according to its president Lisa Wilson-Wirth.
Arclinea’s blend of practicality, cutting-edge design and exquisite technology has lured such clients as Brad Pitt, Donna Karan, Sting and Luciano Pavarotti.
